Gamma — Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Clone Profile

Gamma is a low, own-root mihanovichii with sharply peaked ribs and a smoky camouflage of green, cream, and blush-pink variegation.
Gamma stands out through structure first: a flattened, low-bodied silhouette broken into strongly sculpted ribs, each one rising into angular, almost pyramidal points. The epidermis reads matte and finely textured, giving the plant a dry, stone-like finish that makes the body pattern feel even more graphic. Sparse copper-brown spines and bright white wool at the areoles add crisp contrast rather than clutter. The color play is where Gamma becomes especially memorable. Olive to grey-green zones are washed with cream and soft peach-pink, arranged in irregular mottling and broad flushed sectors that create a subdued, camouflaged look rather than high-contrast striping. It is an own-root clone sourced from Boonsamai through Wikki in Thailand, and in this form it carries a distinctly collected feel: compact, architectural, and quietly unusual.
