Firework — Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Clone Profile

Firework lives up to its name with jagged star ribs, ember-red flashes, and smoky bronze shading that gives the body a lit-from-within look.
Firework is a sharply sculpted Gymnocalycium mihanovichii clone from Noey in Thailand, built around dramatic contrast rather than broad, blended color. The body shows a smoky bronze to dusky brown base, streaked and flared with vivid red-pink variegation that gathers along the ribs like heat moving through folded metal. Pale olive to yellow-green bands trace the rib valleys and cross-lines, creating a layered, almost signal-flare pattern across the plant. What makes Firework especially memorable is its architecture. The ribs are deeply cut, high-shouldered, and strongly angular, giving the plant a compact starburst silhouette from above. Fine, short spines emerge from neat cream areoles, adding just enough punctuation without distracting from the color play. The overall effect is graphic and theatrical: a low, tense body with ember tones, shadowed planes, and bright flashes that read exactly as the name promises.
