Pink Giant pairs a dark, sculptural body with soft pink marbling that rises through the ribs like brushed pigment under glass.

Pink Giant is a named Gymnocalycium mihanovichii clone from Thailand with a distinctly weighty, sculpted presence. The body sits low and broad on its own roots, with thick, strongly contoured ribs that rise into pronounced, angular chins and deep furrows. Its surface reads almost lacquered in the photographs: dark green to near-black across most of the body, interrupted by smoky blush-pink and pale cream-pink sectors that climb the flanks and gather around the lower ribs.

What makes Pink Giant memorable is the tension between mass and color. The heavy rib architecture gives it a muscular, carved look, while the variegation breaks that solidity with painterly vertical flames and soft-edged patches. Fine amber spines radiate lightly from bright white woolly areoles, adding a dry, wiry halo over the darker epidermis. The result is a clone with real visual gravity—compact, moody, and vividly marked without losing the classic Gymnocalycium silhouette.
