T31115 — Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Clone Profile

T31115 Gymnocalycium mihanovichii clone profile
The Pioneer Nursery Pioneer Clone Archive

T31115 is a vividly marbled own-root Gymnocalycium mihanovichii with chunky, sculpted ribs washed in yellow, green, cream, and soft coral-pink.

T31115 carries the bold, high-contrast look collectors chase in a variegated Gymnocalycium mihanovichii. The body is heavily marbled in saturated yellow, deep green, creamy white, and blush-to-coral pink, with the color concentrated in broad rib sections rather than fine speckling. At the crown, the newest growth glows brightest, with upright rib tips lit in yellow and edged in green, giving the top a lantern-like intensity. What makes T31115 especially memorable is its architecture. The ribs are thick, knuckled, and strongly tuberculate, creating a stacked, almost armor-plated surface that throws the variegation into relief. Short to medium pale spines emerge lightly from small woolly areoles, adding a fine, wiry texture without obscuring the body. Provenance notes report that T31115 was developed by Nattaya Nursery and named for the first date it was sold: November 3, 2015. Shown here on its own roots, it presents as a compact, sculptural clone with a distinctly dramatic crown and richly banded sides.
