Yellow Multicolor — Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Clone Profile

Yellow Multicolor Gymnocalycium mihanovichii clone profile
The Pioneer Nursery Pioneer Clone Archive

Yellow Multicolor is a compact own-root Gymnocalycium mihanovichii with creamy yellow flesh washed in coral-pink and broken by deep green marbling.

Yellow Multicolor lives up to its name with a pastel-to-electric mix that reads almost painted by hand. The body shows a creamy yellow base shifting toward warmer golden tones at the crown, while broad coral-pink blushes sit across the rib faces and deep green sections rise between them in irregular, flame-like marbling. The overall effect is layered rather than striped—soft yellow, pink, and green moving together across a rounded, sculptural body. The ribs are pronounced and distinctly chinned, giving the plant a knuckled, almost tessellated surface that catches every color break. Small white woolly areoles and short, fine brownish spines keep the texture delicate instead of heavy. This example is shown on its own roots and is already producing basal offsets, adding another point of collector interest to an already unusually vivid clone from Thailand.
