Effective September 1, 2026
Plant Import Market offers plants sourced from approved international growers and fulfilled in the United States by The Pioneer Nursery. This policy explains the additional timing and handling involved in an international plant order.
Consolidated import orders
Each eligible listing is assigned to a specific import batch with an ordering deadline and an estimated U.S. fulfillment window. Products assigned to different import batches may require separate orders. After an import window closes, participating growers prepare the sold plants and deliver them for export processing.
Displayed price and domestic shipping
The displayed plant price includes international sourcing, import coordination, required documentation, and U.S. inspection. Domestic shipping and applicable sales tax are shown separately at checkout.
Plant preparation and inspection
Plants generally travel bare root and free of soil or growing media unless a different legally permitted method is stated. Plants may be cleaned, treated, documented, or otherwise prepared as required by the exporting country, carrier, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or the U.S. Department of Agriculture. After arrival, The Pioneer Nursery reconciles and inspects the shipment before domestic fulfillment.
Estimated dates and unexpected delays
Import and domestic-shipping dates are estimates based on the best information reasonably available when the listing is offered. Export preparation, phytosanitary documentation, agricultural inspection, customs processing, carrier conditions, severe weather, or regulatory action can change the schedule.
If we learn that we cannot ship an order within the timeframe stated at purchase, we will provide a delay notice as required by applicable law. The notice will provide a revised shipment date when available and explain how the customer may consent to the delay or cancel the affected unshipped merchandise for a prompt refund. Nothing in this policy limits cancellation or refund rights that cannot legally be waived.
Unavailable, rejected, lost, or prohibited plants
If a plant becomes unavailable, is rejected during export or U.S. inspection, is lost before domestic fulfillment, or cannot legally complete import, the affected plant will be refunded to the original payment method. We will also refund the corresponding tax and any domestic-shipping adjustment required for the remaining order. Store credit will not be substituted for a required refund without the customer’s agreement.
Domestic delivery
Customers are responsible for providing a complete, deliverable U.S. address and monitoring tracking after domestic shipment. Contact us before shipment if an address correction or weather hold may be needed. We are not responsible for losses caused by an incorrect address, refusal of delivery, or an unattended package after confirmed delivery, except where applicable law provides otherwise.
Condition concerns after domestic delivery are governed by the Live Plant Condition Guarantee.
