Care Instructions:
Caring for your Anthurium Big Bill is a rewarding experience. Follow these care instructions to ensure its optimal growth and continued beauty:
Initial Care: Prior to shipping, this house plant will be carefully packaged with her cup to contain the roots. We will make every effort possible to protect her during shipping. However, there is a chance that some branches may become damaged or some leaves may wilt if the soil gets too dry. Make sure to immediately open the package upon arrival and unwrap your plant. Provide her with water and a chance to settle, and she should be fine. If she is wilting, water and a light misting should help her recover quickly. Once she has had time to recover from the shipping process, please feel free to up-pot her to a new container. She will need chunky soil that is well draining. Do not up-pot into a significantly larger container, as you do not want your plant to spend all her effort on creating roots. She will be much happier with a gradual increase in container size.
We try our hardest to package our plants securely, but cannot guarantee it’s condition at arrival. We will only use USPS Priority shipping to ensure the shortest time possible in transit to help protect the plant.
If you have any issues, please contact me first before leaving any negative feedback! I am always willing to work with you.
Lighting: Place your Anthurium Big Bill in a location with bright, indirect light. While it can tolerate lower light conditions, it thrives in a well-lit spot. Avoid direct sunlight to prevent leaf scorching.
Temperature: This tropical beauty thrives in temperatures between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Protect it from drafts and avoid placing it in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations.
Watering: Water your Anthurium Big Bill thoroughly and allow the top inch (2.5 cm) of the soil to dry out before watering again. Aim for consistent moisture without overwatering, as it can lead to root rot. Ensure proper drainage to prevent waterlogging.
Humidity and Soil: Provide ample humidity for your Anthurium Big Bill. Mist the leaves regularly, and consider placing a humidifier nearby. Plant it in well-draining soil to prevent waterlogging, allowing the roots to breathe.
Support for Growth: Given its potential to grow quite large, ensure your Anthurium Big Bill is provided with sturdy support. Consider using stakes or other support structures to help bear the weight of its magnificent foliage and flowers.
Fertilization: Feed your Anthurium Big Bill with a balanced liquid fertilizer diluted to half the recommended strength. Apply every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer) to promote lush foliage and healthy growth.
Pruning and Maintenance: Regularly inspect your plant for any yellowing or damaged leaves and trim them using clean, sharp pruning shears. Pruning helps maintain the plant's shape and encourages new growth.

Please note we are a US Seller! Items will be shipped from within the US. We will only ship to United States customers. No International Shipping.
We will do combined shipping, based on weight, quantity, and size of plants. If you purchase multiple plants and wait to pay and request an invoice when ready, we will provide you with a combined shipping total appropriate to the weight, quantity, and size of final purchases. Houseplants will be shipped between Monday and Wednesday morning. This is for the safety of the plant – we want to reduce potential problems of being stuck in shipping over weekends.
Upon receipt of plant – carefully open and remove plant from package. Houseplants shipped in a container should be given 2-3 days to acclimate prior to repotting. Be careful not to repot up too quickly – they do not like large pots! They will do better with pots just slightly bigger than their prior pots. This encourages them to continue to focus on overall growth, and not just root growth. Soil should be moist when planting, then they should be watered. Soil must be well draining. Soil mix should be chunky – use perlite, lyca balls, bark, charcoal, peat moss, and soil to ensure a good mix. Houseplants will also benefit from the addition of mosquito bits in their soil to reduce chances of fungus gnats in their soil. Water every 3-5 days when the soil has dried out. All containers for plants must have drainage holes. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking, and never let them sit in standing water as this can cause root rot.
If your temperatures will be below 40 degrees, we do suggest using heat packs. We sell heat packs separately as an add on item
