TRex — Gymnocalycium mihanovichii Clone Profile

TRex is a compact own-root Gymnocalycium mihanovichii with rugged, knuckled ribs, smoky green skin, and vivid pink flushing packed between the tubercles.
TRex lives up to its name with a tougher, more armored look than the average mihanovichii. The body is compact and own-root, built from swollen, knuckled ribs that rise into blunt, sculpted tubercles. Across that heavy texture, pink pigmentation pools between the rib crests and around the crown, set against a dusky green base that gives the whole plant a moody, volcanic cast. What makes this clone memorable is the contrast between mass and detail: thick, bony-looking rib structure, fine pale areoles, and short to moderately slender spines that add a dry, bristling finish without hiding the body. The crown reads especially dramatic, where the pink intensifies among tightly packed growth points. Small basal offsets are visible, adding to the impression of a clone with a dense, creature-like silhouette rather than a neat geometric sphere.
