Why You’ll Love This Ario Fissuratus
Rare and Collector-Friendly: Ariocarpus are prized by cactus collectors for their slow, distinctive growth and bold, geometric form.

require minimal watering and thrive with basic succulent care.
Striking Display: The compact, sculptural rosette design adds a show-stopping focal point to any windowsill, desk, or greenhouse display.

Care Guide

1. Lighting Needs
Bright, Indirect Light: Place your Ario Fissuratus Godzilla near a window that receives plenty of filtered sunlight. It can tolerate some direct sun, especially in the early morning or late afternoon, but shield it from harsh midday rays.

2. Watering Schedule
Sparingly & Infrequently: During the growing season (spring and summer), allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings—typically watering every 3–4 weeks. Reduce watering to once a month or less during dormancy (fall and winter). Overwatering can lead to root rot and other issues.

3. Soil Mix
Well-Draining Cactus Blend: Use a high-quality cactus or succulent mix with added perlite or pumice to ensure efficient drainage. Ariocarpus prefer a coarse, airy soil that prevents moisture buildup.

4. Temperature Requirements
Warm & Dry: Ideal temperatures range between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Keep your Ariocarpus away from cold drafts or frost, as it is not frost-tolerant.

5. Fertilizing
Light Feeding: During the active growing season, feed with a diluted, balanced cactus fertilizer once a month. Avoid fertilizing in fall and winter when growth naturally slows.

6. Repotting & Handling
Slow Grower: Repot every 2–3 years, or only when it outgrows its container. Ensure the new pot is only slightly larger, as Ariocarpus do best with snug roots and fresh soil. Handle carefully to avoid damaging its delicate tubercles.

Unboxing & Planting Instructions
Carefully Unbox: Upon arrival, remove your Ario Fissuratus Godzilla from its packaging, taking care not to damage roots or tubercles.
Acclimation Period: Allow the plant to rest in a shaded, ventilated area for 1–2 days before potting to help it adjust from shipping.
Potting Up: Choose a pot with drainage holes and fill it with your prepared cactus mix. Place the cactus so its base sits just above the soil line, then backfill gently.
Initial Watering: Wait 1–2 weeks before watering for the first time to let any root damage heal and avoid rot.

Upon receipt of plant – carefully open and remove plant from package. Cacti should be then placed on moist soil (it helps to create an indentation for the roots). Soil mix should be chunky, such as with the use of cactus soil that includes rocks, lyca balls, perlite, sand, and soil. Soil must be well draining. All containers for plants must have drainage holes. Cacti are best watered from the bottom when the top soil has dried out. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking, and never let them sit in standing water. If your temperatures will be below 40 degrees, please consider adding on one of our $5 72 hour heat packs, available in our store.
