Care Guide
1. Light Requirements
Bright, Indirect Sunlight: Place in a spot that receives abundant filtered light. It can handle some direct sun—particularly morning or late afternoon rays—but shield it from harsh midday heat to prevent scorching.
2. Watering Schedule
Sparingly and Infrequently: Allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. During the active growing season (spring and summer), water approximately every 2–3 weeks. In fall and winter, reduce watering to once a month or less, as the cactus naturally enters dormancy.
3. Soil & Potting
Well-Draining Mix: Use a specialized cactus or succulent mix containing perlite, coarse sand, or pumice for optimal drainage.
Drainage-Friendly Container: Plant in a pot with drainage holes to prevent water accumulation. Terracotta or clay pots are highly recommended to help evaporate excess moisture.
4. Temperature & Humidity
Warm Environment: Ideal temperatures range between 65°F and 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Protect from frost or freezing conditions, as this cactus is not frost-tolerant.
5. Fertilizing
Light Feeding: During the growing season, apply a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer once a month. Avoid fertilizing in winter when growth slows.
6. Bloom Encouragement
Proper Light & Minimal Stress: Give your cactus enough bright light and the right watering routine. If conditions are correct and it’s matured, it will produce stunning yellow flowers—often with a splash of red in the center.
Unboxing & Planting Instructions
Careful Unwrap: Remove your Astrophytum Capricorne gently from its packaging.
Allow Acclimation: Let the cactus rest in a cool, shaded spot for 1–2 days before potting to recover from transit.
Potting: Fill a container with a cactus mix and position the plant at soil level. Backfill lightly around the roots.
First Watering: Wait at least one week before watering to let any minor root damage heal and to avoid immediate rot.

Upon receipt of plant – carefully open and remove plant from package. Cacti should be then placed on moist soil (it helps to create an indentation for the roots). Soil mix should be chunky, such as with the use of cactus soil that includes rocks, lyca balls, perlite, sand, and soil. Soil must be well draining. All containers for plants must have drainage holes. Cacti are best watered from the bottom when the top soil has dried out. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking, and never let them sit in standing water.
