Care Instructions:
Lighting Needs:
Place your Melocactus Peruvianus Inermis in an area that receives bright, indirect sunlight. While it can tolerate some direct sun, especially in the cooler morning hours, shield it from the harsh afternoon sun to avoid scorching.
Watering Schedule:
Water your Melocactus sparingly. Allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings. Typically, watering once every 2-3 weeks during the growing season is adequate, decreasing to once a month during the dormant winter period.
Temperature Requirements:
This cactus prefers warm temperatures between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). It is not frost-tolerant, so ensure it is protected from temperatures below 50°F (10°C).
Unboxing and Repotting Instructions:
Upon receiving your Melocactus Peruvianus Inermis:
Carefully Unbox: Gently remove the cactus from its packaging. Handle with care to avoid damaging the smooth, spineless surface.
Select the Right Pot: Choose a well-draining pot with drainage holes, slightly larger than the current root ball. Terracotta pots are ideal as they help evaporate excess moisture quickly.
Soil Mix: Use a well-draining cactus mix, or make your own by combining potting soil with sand and perlite in equal parts.
Planting: Position the cactus in the new pot and gently fill around it with soil mix. Ensure that the soil level does not bury the cactus too deeply to prevent moisture buildup around the base.
Initial Watering: Water lightly to settle the soil. Then, wait a week before watering again to allow any damaged roots to heal.

Upon receipt of plant – carefully open and remove plant from package. Cacti should be then placed on moist soil (it helps to create an indentation for the roots). Soil mix should be chunky, such as with the use of cactus soil that includes rocks, lyca balls, perlite, sand, and soil. Soil must be well draining. All containers for plants must have drainage holes. Cacti are best watered from the bottom when the top soil has dried out. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking, and never let them sit in standing water.
