Care Guide
1. Light Requirements
Bright, Indirect Sunlight: Place in a spot with several hours of filtered light daily. A few hours of direct morning or late-afternoon sun can deepen the variegation, but shield it from harsh midday rays to avoid burning the delicate tissues.
2. Watering
Sparingly & Thoroughly: During the active growing season (spring/summer), water only when the soil is fully dry—roughly every 2–3 weeks. Reduce frequency in fall/winter to about once a month or less, allowing the plant a gentle dormancy.
Drainage is Key: Always use a pot with drainage holes or allow water to drain away completely if temporarily potting without holes.
3. Soil & Potting
Well-Draining Mix: Use a specialized cactus or succulent blend with perlite/pumice for improved drainage. This helps prevent root rot.
Pot Size: When choosing a pot, opt for one just slightly bigger than the root system. Terracotta pots are ideal for moisture control.
4. Temperature & Humidity
Warm & Dry: Ideal temperatures range from 65°F to 85°F (18°C–29°C). Avoid frost, and bring the plant indoors or protect it if temperatures fall below 50°F (10°C).
5. Fertilizing
Light Feeding: During the growing season, consider a monthly application of a diluted, balanced liquid fertilizer formulated for cacti. Cease feeding in cooler months to allow natural rest.
Shipping & Setup
Ships Bare Root: We carefully remove the cactus from its pot, secure the roots, and wrap it to protect the stem and variegation during transit.
Potting Recommendation: Upon arrival, gently place it in a draining container filled with cactus mix. Let it settle a few days before the first watering to minimize transplant stress.
Minimal Stress: Our packaging ensures minimal jostling, so your boobie cactus arrives in healthy, ready-to-grow condition.

Upon receipt of plant – carefully open and remove plant from package. Cacti should be then placed on moist soil (it helps to create an indentation for the roots). Soil mix should be chunky, such as with the use of cactus soil that includes rocks, lyca balls, perlite, sand, and soil. Soil must be well draining. All containers for plants must have drainage holes. Cacti are best watered from the bottom when the top soil has dried out. Keep the soil moist, but not soaking, and never let them sit in standing water. If your temperatures will be below 40 degrees, please consider adding on one of our $5 72 hour heat packs, available in our store.
